Well it's 1:36 in the morning and I can't fall asleep, nothing new here. Granted, I slept until 4 in the afternoon today so it's kind of expected I would be up this late.
I was planning to spend yet another evening watching movies on Netflix but then I got caught up watching videos about going to college and what it's like and I just can't stop thinking about it. As a senior in high school who's been accepted into her top choice, all I can think about is college.
I'm going to a fairly large University (around 17,000 I believe) and that's a HUGE change for me coming from an all girls Catholic school of about 700 maybe. And I know that it's going to be a difficult transition BUT IT'S GOING TO BE SO EXCITING. I don't know why but I just can't stop thinking about it all- living in a dorm with a complete stranger (who will hopefully not be psycho), walking to classes throughout the day, meeting so many new people, starting to finally do what I love (fashion merchandising), partying on the weekends (responsibly), and all that comes with college.
I know people constantly say "Oh don't wish high school away you'll miss it!" and yes I know, I absolutely will miss high school. I LOVE my school and I have some of the greatest friends in the world and of course I don't want it to go away so fast. It's not that I want to leave high school it's just that I want to go to college. I want to be independent and live on my own and experience new things.
I can't wait to start buying stuff for my dorm and getting my roommate assignment (though it does make me a little nervous) and get to school and live on a campus and jsut alsdkga;sjbgd;kajbs COLLEGE YA KNOW. And it really doesn't help my inability to be patient that I'm going to a school that I love. It is literally a school with everything I could want - it has my major, the ability to study abroad, lots of internship opportunities, a program linked to FIT, IT HAS IT ALL OK. I just can't wait to be out of where I am now ya know.
Well sorry that this post isn't super informative or helpful or exciting with fancy pictures and shit but it's just a rant from a girl who can't wait to live her life in college. Holla.
Merci beaucoup.

Small Target Haul!
A quick trip to Target turned into 2 hours spent perusing the makeup and skin care isles. I had a few things on my list but of course I ended up with more than I intended.
The first item I purchased was Rimmel's Match Perfection foundation in 101 - Classic Ivory. This is in fact my very first liquid foundation. Since I have freckles (like all over my face, not just here and there) I've always been hesitant to try a liquid foundation, afraid that it would awkwardly cover my freckles. I've always used powder foundation though in the summer I did try BB cream which worked nicely, the brand I purchased was just a bit oily though. I've heard good reviews about this foundation though so we shall see. I intend to apply it with a Beauty Blender sponge for a natural look. A review shall follow.

The next product I purchased was NYC's Sunny Bronzer. After using up all of my NYX Matte Bronzer, I was in need of a new one, however I was unable to find it anywhere! But while I was looking through Target I saw this and it seems to be a YouTube/Beauty Blogger cult item so I thought I'd give it a try. It is a matte bronzer which is what I needed. I really only use bronzer to contour so hopefully this does the trick.
The next two products are lip products. It seems that makeup at Target is always cheaper than at drugstores or at Ulta so therefore I justify buying more than I need. The first lip product I got was the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Striking. I chose this red shade because I only have one other red lipstick, which I adore, but this one looked promising - it's a blue toned red which suits my skin tone best, plus it's matte which I love in a red lip! (The photo below isn't that great but it gives an idea of the textures)

The next lip product I purchased was the L'Oreal Colour Riche Caress Aqua Lacquer Lip Stain in Infinite Fuschia. That is quite a mouthful. This is a nice deeper fuschia color, perfect for winter (it is darker on the lips than it looks swatched on my hand I swear). On the lips, it feels glossy upon application but it definitely stains - I swatched it and wiped it off with a wet paper towel and it's still on my hand.
I also purchased army green knee-high socks with little ruffles at the top to wear peeking out of my boots and then I bought a new toothbrush and toothpaste. Quite exciting.
Well that's it for today. Hope you all have a lovely day/evening. I will probably post some reviews of these products shortly.
Merci beaucoup!

I'm going to France!
As mentioned in my updates post, I AM GOING TO FRANCE. I feel like anytime I say this is needs to be in all caps. Hell my phone has autocorrected the words French and France to be in all caps. I am just so happy and excited.
The story begins my freshman year. My family hosted a 17 year old French boy, Augustin, from Annecy, France. He stayed with us for about 7 months. Whilst here, his family visited for about a week. They visited New York and DC during this week but we still spent time with them. His parents and younger brother came (his two older brothers were in school/work). That was the first time I met Grégoire.
The next year in April, Grégoire came to stay with my family for 2 1/2. In those two months, he became my friend/brother just as Augustin had. Then the summer after my junior year, I tried to plan a trip to France to stay with him, but someone else was visiting. And so I had to wait (insert me all sad and disappointed). BUT I messaged him in the beginning of December asking if I could come stay (my brothers had visited before for three weeks in the summer and they always said I could come any time). As it turns out, I will be spending 3-4 weeks in France this upcoming summer.
He said that he has planned a vacation with his friends already in "Cap Ferret" but that I would be able to come with him. It's this little peninsula on the west coast of France and his friend's house is right on the tip of it. I also mentioned how I wanted to try and spend a week in Paris and he said he has an aunt who has a condo in Paris we could stay in mentioning that she probably wouldn't be there. It's like all of the stars have aligned and everything is just working out perfectly ok I just don't know how.
So basically I am going to have the trip of a lifetime, and I couldn't be happier. I have wanted to go to France since I was a little girl. And to be able to see GG (Grégoire) again after two years is so exciting. My summer will consist of graduation, senior week, working, hanging out with friends, and France- truly the summer of a lifetime.
So I will be working on my French and saving all of my money in preparation for my trip. I'm so excited this is literally all I talk about it just consumes all of my thoughts. Just seeing GG again and meeting all of his friends is slightly nerve racking but exciting. You can be sure there will be several more posts as it gets closer to July. Any suggestions of where I should go / what I should do whilst in France, let me know! Also any tips on travelling and packing and even just your travel stories, please share!
Merci beaucoup!
